Basic Watercolor Supplies
- 2-3 Quarter Sheets of Arches 140 lb. cold press paper (11 x 15 similar size block)
- Watercolor Palette
- Tubes of watercolor paint: I commonly use
- Cobalt Blue
- Phthylo or Winsor Blue
- Alizarin Crimson
- Winsor or Cadmium Red
- Aureolin
- Cadmium Yellow
- Quinacridone Gold
- Raw Sienna
- Burnt Sienna
- Paynes Grey.
- Water Container(s)
- Brushes: 1″ flat, #10 round, rigger
- Paper towels or tissues
- Small kitchen sponge
- Backing Board (20 x 24″ or larger) if using sheets of watercolor paper vs. block
- White artist or masking tape (3/4″ or 1″)
- Sketch pad, pencil and black/grey markers, kneaded eraser
- Small spray bottle
Also good to have:
- Old toothbrush
- Old credit card to cut up
- Ruler
- Snap cutter (from the hardware store)
- Masking Fluid
- Rubber Cement Pick-up
- A small container of table salt
- Tracing paper
