  • Fredrix Canvas Pad, white, 12 x 16″ #RA12526DM
  • Fredrix Palette Trowel, 3″ #RA31568DM
  • CarbOthello Pencil:
    • 1 #620 FA11064D511
  • 1 standard old #2 pencil like you’d have at school or office
  • Odorless Turpenoid 8oz to 16oz will work fine
  • Painting medium. If you’re starting from scratch, pick up a little bottle of Refined Linseed Oil or Cold-Pressed Linseed Oil. If you’ve already got a bottle of oil (Linseed, Walnut, Safflower, Poppy) or a painting medium, great, bring what you have; they all work well.
    • Option: If you’d like your paintings to dry much faster (overnight instead of in 2 or 3 days), get an alkyd medium such as Liquin or Galkyd instead of oil; I recommend the smallest bottles for alkyd mediums as they do go bad over time, while oil mediums don’t.
  • White or kneaded eraser
  • Any kind of sketchbook, 8 x 10″ or larger.
  • Drawing board, 12 x 16″ or larger; this can be anything, even a piece of stiff cardboard.
  • Jar with an airtight lid for the solvent. Jelly jars work well for this and are free.
  • Paper towels or rags. Rags are best; I sacrifice old T-shirts for this.
