Dear Potters, Friends, and Lovers of Pottery:

My father’s memorial is Monday evening, May 13th, 2019 at 6:30 pm. Doors will be open at 5:30 for people to visit with friends.

Location: Ted Mann Concert Hall, University of Minnesota. It has its own website with directions and parking info and is easy to get to. Next to the Art Building, the Hall overlooks the Mississippi River. Parking is in a ramp across the street. There’s a drive up to the front door for dropping people off.

Please invite your friends and anyone you think would like to come. The Hall has 1250 seats (and more can be added). So there’s lots of room.

We’ll have live music, several local speakers, and a guest from Japan, Kyoko Mimura. Ms. Mimura, who knew my dad and loves his pots, is an expert on the Mingei Movement. She knows “Mingeisota” and is giving a lecture on Saturday, May 11that The Weisman Art Museum.

I hope many of you who are in town for the St. Croix Valley Pottery Tour will be able to stay an extra day and enjoy visiting with friends, celebrating my father’s life, and remembering the roots of what has been called, “The St. Croix Valley Pottery Phenomenon.”

Please pass this on to others, and help me get the word out. Thank you! I look forward to seeing you in May.

Sincerely,
Tamsyn MacKenzie
