Professional grade in tubes or dry pans – student grade paint is NOT recommended

Travel brushes are very compact and portable, DaVinci Casaneo are my favorites
Miscellaneous items:
- pencil or mechanical pencil, HB or similar. Cretacolor pencil is my brand of choice
- waterproof ink pen (fine and medium), Sakura, Staedtler or similar – for sketching
- eraser
- paper pad for drawing
- portable container to hold water
- absorbent cloth towels or paper towel
- watercolor palette – for tube colors. I prefer metal but inexpensive plastic ones will be just fine
Paper:
- watercolor sketchbook, pads or loose sheets, cotton paper is the best Suggested brands include: Hahnemühle, Arches, Fabriano, Canson or equivalent. Fluid is a very affordable option
